The trip itself was pretty good. Had a nice time with Dan and some of the students from other schools. It was a pain in the ass dealing with the disorganized meetings and the lack of focus in our discussion. There was one girl there who was a staunch activist (for anything "against the system" and everything "for the movement" - whatever that means), she was really disruptive, but really, had we had our (the organization's) act together better, less opposition would have been faced as we'd have solid ground to stand on whence making a stance. But, whatever.
Met with X for dinner and a cider. It was great hearing her stories from Korea and what she's up to now. It really is something to still be friends with someone after nearly a decade. We had a really good evening, and made tentative plans for christmastime. I also ran into Adam at Barrymores on Sunday night - more than slightly hammered, he updated me quickly through the last 3 years of his life. Looks like things are going well for him (from what I could piece together) so that's good. Other than that, didn't recognize anyone at all - well - did spot one other person. Aaron the long pony-tailed hair guy from Sips. That was odd.
Now, back in Edmonton, back home, things that were pending while in Ottawa are back full force. Have been doing lots of little work bits that require 5 to 30 minutes of work, and are just little things that just need to be done.
Been listening lots to Tori's new album Scarlet Walk it's really wonderful - very back to Little Earthquakes. Still have not explored all the wonderfulalities of the limited edition box set - know that there is a dvd, the cd with a key for the internet, stickers, postcards that are like polaroids, an umbrella charm (so cute!) and some kind of road map to the US where she wrote the album with lyrics on the back. It is good stuff.
Finally, Halloween!
Went as a Soldier of Fortune pinup girl. It was hillarious.
