Lunch with the MayorAfter a very successful hunt for a
new purse , I enjoyed a very good plate of fennel and sausage risotto at Zenari's in downtown. Seated next to me was Mayor Stephen Mandel. He had soup but didn't eat the mushrooms.

WTF? I must be getting old...I cannot believe it - but I think I'm finding milk chocolate too sweet and not enjoyable... the darker stuff is growing on me.

The Spiciest Tuna Maki In the WorldHad that for supper tonight, as well as some tamago (to tone down the spiciness), super delicious unagi & some pretty damn fine agadashi tofu.
Shopped for the dog.
Bought diet Pepsi & kettle chips for a snack.
Played the Sims2 for 3 straingt hours while a meeting I couldn't vote on proceded downstairs.
Got complimented on my outfit by a very happy surprise visitor.
Got some sweet swag.
Drove around Kitchener-Waterloo some more - such a lovely little town.
Only downside today is that I penned myself on my very favourite yellow blouse. The Tide-to-go is, for the first-time ever, not doing it's thing. Meh! Not too shabby overall, really!
Get to go back to TO tomorrow & see the future-in-laws & their lovely dog. It's going to be gorgeous all weekend for my time in Toronto - nice!

Somehow the weekend didn't feel anywhere as productive and relaxing as today (Monday) felt.
Went out for drinks with the hack friends on Friday after work, which was good fun, but then had to rush home to let the dog out. Ended up having unfrozen pizza dinner (yes, like unfrozen caveman lawyer) which was tolerable.
Saturday I tried to sleep in, but the stupid dog was pushing me around in bed. We were going to have guests over on Sunday, so I went out to get groceries from the Italian Market (which was so-so), to the library (which is always good) and to Second Cup. It was so grey and rainy I didn't realized that the whole day had passed at it was like 8 pm and we had only had a bit to eat. Went out to our old/new favourite Indian buffet place, and enjoyed some new flavour sensations and chai.
Sunday - still grey. Ran errands with Chris, but because he's been so busy with work, he forgot half the things he wanted to get/do. He was pretty frustrated. Got home with only a bit of time to prepare dinner stuffs for Brian & Arile. Dinner was a success, as was the wedding talking/planning we did as a group. Was totally pooped by 10 pm - they left at 11; and then I did dishes (which was good, cuz it allowed me to make lunch for today).
So yeah; not a lot in 3 days. Meanwhile, today, I finished a novel that I started only last night, I raked up all the front & back yard after having picked up after the dog. I had a fun/work meeting with Duncan, and we watched another art documentary while having supper. I also would have done more laundry had Chris moved his stuff out of the machines... grumble.
Tomorrow I have a freakin' 11 hour day at work. I'm at least going to get a very nice, fancy, dinner out of it. Osso Bucco, here I come.

I never know what to pack - but I've never really missed anything...
I'm trying to fit everything into one suitcase plus one large cary on/purse but I'm not sure why... Our bags will be checked the whole way through and there's transportation set up between the airport and the apartment already.
I'm bringing several pairs of very disposable shoes which I hope to replace with very cook Italian shoes.
Pretty much everything on my "to do" list is done - only maybe ironing an extra blouse or two and getting my cary on packed up.
Tonight we feast on Pizza 73 at 10 PM with delicious delicious diet Pepsi and then Cherry Garcia ice cream.
(forget the wedding diet until I return!)

GrossThere is something seriously wrong with the "glaze" on the new Timmie's donuts. There was nothing remotely frosted-flake-like about my honey cruller this morning.
