Friday went out with the girls - it was a nice evening. Ate nothing but things with funny names: Mousaka, Zucoto, Rooibos. Did a cookie exchange with the girls - ended up with a lovely variety of tasties - Hershey got dog cookies too.
Saturday woke up and did gift exchange with Chris - got him a CBC shirt, Old Navy boxers, a Hunter S Thompson book, some candy, a train ornament for the tree, a picture of Hershey with the two of us framed, and a ticket to the Vinyl Cafe show in Ottawa. I got a LOVELY pendant of mystic topaz, the Narnia series in full, really nice toque and scarf and some nice soap and lotion. We were planning to go the hotel brunch, but they weren' having the amazing brunch on Saturdays, so we went to Dim Sum instead. Then we drove around getting stuff for the Sunday party, last minute errands before heading home, and some other stuff. I found the great hot pink clogs, and a nice sweater for way cheap too. We ate a light supper of ravioli and salad and then went for a walk with the dog on the legislature grounds to see the impressive lights they have strung up on the grounds' trees. We got back home, had some baking, and then watched the Christmas Story dvd I had bought for Chris a few years ago.
Sunday we woke up really early, and did a bit of cleaning up before heading to the hotel brunch place. We ate like kings, and then came back to fetch the dog. We drove down to the dog park where Hershey had a great time with the dozens of dogs that were there. There were lots of little kids that don't understand how to deal with dogs, and one little boy got bowled over by two puppies - it was sweet. Hershey let someone pet her - and we found a Hershey clone! More about this will be posted (with pictures) in the dog blog soon.
After all this, we came home, washed the dog and listend to Rex Murphy. We got ready for the Xmas party we had in the evening and we forgot to have supper. Had a lovely time at the party, enjoyed the crazy gift exchange ( we had brought radio controlled race cars, and a ton of candy with a toothbrush; we left with a lovely Japanese tea set and a Kermit ornmanent - from A&T and C&B respectively). Drove home and went to bed, exhausted.
Now, I'm feeling sick and weak, my butt hurts from what felt like a pinched nerve last night, and I am trying to focus on work, but it's awful. Still have a lot to do before leaving Wednesday morning - too much actually. Really looking forward to the holidays.
