We have been on holidays for nearly 4 weeks now, and it has been great! We have enjoyed a lot of relaxing and taking-it-easy time, but we've also done tons of stuff too:
-got a christmas tree from the x-mas tree farm
-helped with Chris' family x-mas party
-went to a x-mas pageant at Chris' childhood church
-went to a relative's x-mas party
-visited memorials for both of our families
-celebrated x-mas twice, with 2 turkey dinners
-visited my grandparents in Sherbrooke
-met Chris' undergrad friends for dinner
-met Val in TO for dinner
-met X in Ottawa for dinner
-visited Carleton & UofO's engineering departments
-wandered all over Toronto and Ottawa
-aranged cake testings, florist possibilities, and made advances for the officiant, mother of the bride dress and bridesmaid dresses
-went to the museum of nature & the Toronto zoo
-went on lots of walks with Hershey
-got a fairly poor haircut
-saw Casino Royale which was pretty good
-enjoyed Japaneses, Korean, Greek, Chinese, Italian and Indian food, plus much more homecooked food
-started and finished Liquor by Poppy Z. Brite
-watched Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi ... maybe for the first time ever - not sure...
-kicked ass at Soul Calibur II
Despite all this, we've been able to enjoy just sitting around, watching some TV, playing with the dog, hanging out with family. Chris has been working really hard on his research remotely and applications. I've been working very hard at ignoring work so that I can make that shift better to my new job when we return home in a few days.
