You can't just drop a bombshell like that and then not post for 5 days afterwards! When's the wedding? How did he propose? What did your parents say?

It was very romantic! First, he surprised me with the trip to SF - he had told me to book a few days off work, but I had no idea we were going that far away!

Then, on the first full day of our trip there, we went walking along the waterfront - it was around supper time, and we were on the boardwalk when he said we should go sit on a bench at a little park. The gist of the proposal was that he was really happy with our relationship and that he wanted to continue this, and then presented me with the lovely ring you see on the picture! I of course said yes --- then needed a really strong drink, so after taking what has become our engagement picture and enjoying the moment for a few minutes, we went to a lovely restaurant on Pier 39 for dinner.

I called my family the next day - they were thrilled! He had told his parents what he had been planning before we left - they are really excited too. We are still planning things, but we're aiming for next summer, likely in Ontario. Val, please send me your mailing address :) :) :)
