Friday had the grad student party, which was just dumb - so few people showed up, there was way too much food and the people who should have been in charge weren't and so Chris and I were tasked with taking care of business. Anyhow, had a good gab with Jenn from Calgary, and that was worth the pain in the ass.
Saturday we had the group X-mas party, which went over really well. Spent the morning running around for last minute stuff, and then got to go tobbaganing with some friends as part of the party. The whole thing went really well, Dave and Ange really liked their gowing away gift, christmas ornaments from each of their friends.
Sunday after waking up nice and late, Chris and I opened our presents! I got a beautiful pair of white topaz earings, a wireless mouse (yay!), some bath bombs from Lush, a cute ornament, and a great reprint of an old cookbook from the turn of the century (such crazy recipes!)
I got Chris some funky t-shirts, Upwords, A Christmas Story, some socks, some tiny goodies, and a ticket to the Chirstmas concert we're going to see in Ottawa.
We then went out for Dim Sum (yum yum!) and then headed to the Vinyl Cafe christmas concert. It was a fantastic show, filled with great stories, music and some funny skits. Our friends were there too. Afterwards, came home, then went out for VERY nice steak dinner at Vons, grabbed some hot chocolate to go from Tim Hortons, then went to see the christmas lights in the park. Came home, had some left-over pie from the party for desert, and watched A Christmas Story. Perfect Christmas celebration day!
