The Snowbirds flew over my house today during their performance for the World Masters Games just north of my neighbourghood. They were incredible. I looked up their website - it's incredible that they fly at 200-600 Km's per hour 4 feet apart from each other! I am so proud that they are a National symbol - I'm so proud to be Canadian when I saw them go!

My neighbourghood is pretty darn awesome in the summer - we live in a fairly quiet area, but only 10 minutes away is downtown and 15 minutes away (both by driving) is the university area and a great strip of shops and restaurants. On Saturdays there's a farmer's market that we have walked to very comfortably. About 5 minutes walk from our house is the river valley and the creek - right now the Saskatoon berries are full and we will go and enjoy picking them (less mosquitoes than last year!). In a week, we'll get the folk festival about 3 minutes walk from our house - we'll be able to hear the acts in the evenings - last year we could hear Great Big Sea. Loreena McKennitt and Ryan Adams are due to play this year - should be good.
